Meet Jenny Conrader, CSA
5309 Casting is led by Jenny Conrader, CSA, a seasoned casting director who views the industry through a 360-degree lens.
Jenny’s background as an actor is the foundation of her casting philosophy. Having stood in the actor’s shoes, she developed a profound respect for the work that goes into every audition. That firsthand experience shaped her “actor-first” philosophy—a commitment to championing talent that has defined her career. Under her leadership, 5309 Casting is a dedicated space where performers are not only seen, but truly understood and advocated for. She got her start in the early 90s as a Casting Assistant for Herb Mandell Casting, and that’s where her love for the “puzzle” of casting began.
Before returning to her casting roots, Jenny took a detour as the Director of Talent for Susanne Haley Talent. She helped steer the agency through a major merger, eventually managing what became the largest talent agency in Central Florida.
As Jenny puts it: “It was the longest ten years of my life… and I thought acting was hard!” But that ‘detour’ turned out to be her greatest asset. Spending a decade representing top-tier actors gave her an insider’s understanding of how the business works, how to negotiate, and exactly what producers and directors need from their talent, finding the the delicate balance between art and commerce.
After years of managing the careers of feature film and commercial actors, Jenny returned to her first love: casting. She set out to conquer the logistics of background casting in the Southeast by launching CROWDshot Casting. Modeled after the legendary Central Casting, CROWDshot became the go-to for production teams who needed high-volume talent handled with precision.
Most recently, Jenny was the Florida Company Manager for Mark Mullen and Associates Casting, further solidifying her spot as one of the most trusted names in the market.
